GOING TO PUT YOUR HOUSE UP FOR SALE IN THE SPRING? YOU’VE GOT A LOT TO CONSIDER

Spring represents many things in the DC Metro area – warmer weather, driving home in daylight, flowers blooming, and the start of baseball season (Go Nats!).  It’s also the time of year when many people decide to put their home up for sale.  While there are many factors that determine how quickly a home sells and for what price, it’s safe to assume that potential buyers will be looking for a place they might someday call their own.

There are a number of experts ready to assist you in the home selling process.  Realtors, Professional Organizers, and Real Estate Staging Professionals are only a few of the important people who will advise you on how to present your home in the best possible light.  One thing that these experts might all agree on is that the more ‘clutter’ you have, the more difficult it will be for the future owners to imagine themselves living there.  This is where Eco City Junk comes in.  We’ve been to hundreds of homes with one mission – remove the items that are no longer needed or wanted.  Why pay a moving company to take items that you haven’t used in years?  A single Eco City Junk truck can hold almost 7 pickup trucks worth of space – giving us the ability to remove items you might not need when moving and/or downsizing.  Whether you have items that must go from the inside or outside of your home, we can help.  We remove hot tubs, old swing sets, unsightly yard sheds, and other yard debris that might be impacting your home’s curb appeal.  If you’ve recently lost a loved one and are responsible for the estate which includes the sale of property, we’ve handled whole house cleanouts on numerous occasions.

We recycle, repurpose, and redistribute as much as possible with every job we do.  Once you’ve gone through your home and made decisions on what you no longer need or want, contact us and we will take care of the rest.  If you’re planning on selling your house, Eco City Junk can play a part in helping the process go smoothly.

IT’S COLD OUTSIDE, AND WHY THAT’S GOOD FOR YOU

Some people enjoy the cold weather and snow, while others clearly do not.  Over the last few years, we seemed to have been spared the brunt of it from Mother Nature – however this year it seems like we’re getting our due and more.  Now that we’re towards the end of January, many people are looking at the list of New Year resolutions wondering which one they can achieve as soon as possible.  While being trapped inside during some extremely cold days might not be your first choice, it does provide you with opportunities to get your house “in order”.

Did you know that the #2 ranked New Year resolution in 2014 is “Getting Organized”[1]?  Now is the perfect time to follow through on what you promised yourself.  Getting rid of the items you no longer want or need, can really take a lot of weight off your shoulders and provide for a more pleasant living environment.  Everyone has items that they haven’t used or touched in a few years or more (personally guilty).  The old piece of furniture or exercise bike which may have once served a specific purpose, has now become a clothes rack in the bedroom.  If you are fortunate enough to have a garage and can’t park inside due to accumulated junk, we can help you.

At Eco City Junk, we remove the items you no longer want while leaving little, if no impact on the environment.  We recycle, repurpose, and redistribute as much as possible after each visit to a customer.  Once you’ve gone through your home and made decisions on what you can live without, contact us and we will take care of the rest.  Whether you have a single old television, or a basement filled with junk, no job is too big or too small for us to handle.  In the end, you’ll be left with a less cluttered home or living space, and most importantly you can cross off one of your New Year resolutions.
